If you are a prospective family, thank you for your interest in Tall Oaks Classical School! Since opening the school in 1994, guided by the Word of God, our purpose has been to assist parents in preparing their children to excel in every duty and calling God has for them. Our vision is that they will grow up to be Christian leaders who will righteously lead in their vocations, families and churches…glorifying God now and for generations to come.

Our campus is currently located on Stanton-Christiana Road (Old Baltimore Pike) just across from the Christiana Mall. Tall Oaks Classical School now serves 140 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, representing 43 area churches and we have plenty of room to grow while still maintaining a small classroom environment.

Many parents and students describe Tall Oaks Classical School as 'awesome' and clearly see the benefits of receiving an education that is totally rooted in Biblical truth, teaching the children that everything in life centers around God and His Word. The students of Tall Oaks Classical School are free to learn joyfully in an atmosphere of holiness characterized by order, godly conduct and mutual respect. The stakeholders, (parents, faculty and administration), through a covenant relationship, have developed a safe and structured environment that develops high moral standards. These standards are unwavering and, as such, a thorough pre-enrollment screening is in place to ensure all future parents share in this covenant responsibility.

Admissions to Tall Oaks Classical School is based upon completion of the application, a family interview and assessment of the prospective student. Tall Oaks does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in admissions of students, employment policies,
or educational programs.

Admissions Procedures

1. You may download an application or request one from Tall Oaks Classical School (TOCS).
2. Please fill out the application, submitting grades and standardized test scores along with a check for one-hundred dollars ($100.00) and return it to the school office.
3. You will receive a letter from TOCS acknowledging receipt of your application and check.
4. Please read An Introduction to Classical Education by Christopher A. Perrin, M. Div., Ph.D.
5. Please call to make an appointment for your family to meet with the Headmaster and for your child to be tested.
6. Several days following the meeting and testing, you will receive a letter stating your child’s acceptance status.
7. At the appropriate time, other mailings are sent including tuition coupons, school calendars, uniform information, supply lists, reading lists, etc.
8. Complete any other requirements arising from discussions with the Headmaster concerning admission at TOCS.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition is normally paid in eleven monthly payments. The first payment is due:

• For re-enrolling families – June 1, 2008. For new families upon acceptance.
• The second payment is due August 1, 2008. The eleventh and final payment is due May 1, 2009.
• A discount applies to any family paying full tuition in a lump sum upon acceptance or prior to July 31, 2008.

Check with the financial secretary for discount amount.

For families enrolling more than one child, children are counted in descending order of age. Kindergarten ends at 12:10 each day.

Additional Costs

– A $100.00 non-refundable registration fee. This is a one-time $100.00 fee per family.
   Please submit with student application.

– Cost of School Uniforms (Every day, Dress and P.E.)

– Book and Activity Fee per student is due July 1, 2008

• Kindergarten: $280.00
• 1st through 2nd: $340.00
• 3rd through 4th: $370.00
• 5th through 6th: $390.00
• 7th through 8th: $420.00
• 9th through 12th: $450.00

This fee covers:

• The use of the textbooks and curriculum, which TOCS owns.
• The cost of insurance for each child.
• The costs of activities such as field trips.
• The cost of achievement testing. (ERB & PSAT)
• All art and music materials.
• Membership in Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS).
• Teacher gifts and luncheons
