DRAMA CLUB--
Among preparation of various plays and vignettes, the Drama Club prepares acts from Shakespearean plays and annually competes in the Shakespeare Festival. The club will focus on improving member's acting skills and learning about creating sets, props, and costumes. They will take their show on the
road by performing skits for young audiences and
perform a major production in the spring. Drama is an elective for dialectic and rhetoric students (7th through 12th grades).
SPANISH CLUB --
The Spanish Club is open to students in First Grade through Sixth Grade. The club is an introduction to basic conversational Spanish language and Hispanic culture. Students will learn basic vocabulary and simple conversations and explore the culture through food, arts and other activities.
MUSIC LESSONS --
Private music lessons are available on weekdays between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm for those students interested in learning to play a musical instrument. Please contact the school office for more information on these private lessons.
SCIENCE LABS --
High school science labs are offered one day a week which will coordinate with the Apologia series textbooks by Jay Wile. These classes are only the labs which will supplement the regular coursework the students will be doing at home. Students successfully completing these courses will receive a certificate for their portfolios.
LITERATURE CLUB --
The Literature Discussion Groups will use the Shared Inquiry method of literature discussion to develop the students’ ability to interpret a text and increase their reading comprehension. Discussion groups meet once a month for one hour.
YEARBOOK STAFF --
Yearbook is an elective course open to rhetoric students (9th through 12th grades). Students on the yearbook staff showcase the events of the academic year. Student staff members learn and sharpen creative skills such as: photography and editing; layout design and graphics; and advertising sales just to name a few. The Yearbook staff meets weekly during the last period of the school day.
